Minutist connected tier
Refund & cancellation policy
What this policy covers
This policy covers the Minutist connected tier: a paid annual subscription at AUD$20 per year. Billing is annual only; there is no monthly option.
The connected tier is a digital subscription. The paid features are end-to-end-encrypted sync across your own devices and the Android capture companion (iOS coming soon). The Claude and Codex connector is free and local, and is not part of this subscription. Nothing physical ships.
The free desktop build is not a purchase. There is nothing to refund or cancel there, and this policy does not apply to it.
Who processes your payment
Payment is processed by Polar as merchant of record. As merchant of record, Polar is the seller of record for the transaction: it charges your card, collects and remits the applicable GST, VAT, or sales tax, and handles the refund mechanics. Minutist is the software vendor; Polar is the seller you transact with.
Refunds and cancellations are processed through Polar. Minutist does not charge or refund your card directly.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
The supplier is Andrew Leech (ABN 99 204 041 267), an Australian sole trader (Polar is the seller of record). The Australian Consumer Law (ACL) applies to this subscription.
The consumer guarantees under the ACL cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. Nothing in this policy limits them. If the connected tier fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy: for a major failure you can choose a refund; for a problem that can be put right, you are entitled to a fix within a reasonable time. These rights apply regardless of Polar's refund policy, and in addition to it.
Refunds
Refunds follow Polar's refund policy, which you agree to at checkout. Polar currently allows a refund request within 30 days of your most recent subscription renewal; the current terms are in the Polar Buyer Terms.
Polar issues any refund to the payment method you used.
Cancellation
Because billing is annual only, cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end your current subscription early.
Your access to the connected tier continues until the end of the year you have paid for. After that, the subscription does not renew and access stops.
There is no mid-term proration: cancelling part-way through a paid year does not by itself refund the unused months. Polar's refund policy and your ACL rights are the exceptions to this.
How to cancel or request a refund
Manage or cancel your subscription from the customer portal linked in your Polar receipt and renewal emails. Cancelling there stops the next renewal.
To request a refund under Polar's policy, or to raise an ACL remedy, contact [email protected]. Refunds are completed by Polar.
