Attachments
Attachments are reference material for a meeting: an agenda, a slide deck, a spreadsheet, an email thread, a screenshot. Minutist converts each one to text on your machine, so its content feeds the summary and is searchable in chat.
Two ways to attach
Section titled “Two ways to attach”- Into your notes. Drag or paste a file into the notes editor. It lands where your cursor is: an image as a thumbnail, anything else as a file card.
- The Attachments column. Turn on the Attachments pane from the pane toggle at the top of the window, then use Add files (or drop files onto the pane). The column lists every file for the meeting.
The pane is available before, during, and after recording, on any open meeting.
What is supported
Section titled “What is supported”Documents and data: plain text, Markdown, CSV/TSV, JSON, YAML, XML, log files,
Excel and OpenDocument spreadsheets, HTML, .eml email, PDF, PowerPoint, and
Word. Images: PNG, JPEG, and TIFF.
Each file can be up to 50 MiB. Unsupported types and oversized files are rejected at the point you drop them, with an inline message.
What attaching does
Section titled “What attaching does”Each file is converted to Markdown in the background and stored alongside the meeting. That text becomes reference material for the summary and is indexed for chat retrieval. Text in images is read by the app’s local vision model (OCR), so a screenshot of a table or a photo of a whiteboard is searchable too, with no extra download and nothing sent off the machine.
The pane shows each file’s state: converting, ready, or failed. A file that fails to convert can still be opened with Open anyway, which hands the raw file to your default application.
Inline files
Section titled “Inline files”A file dropped into your notes keeps a reference to the single stored copy; it is not duplicated. Images show inline; click a non-image card to open the file in the application your system uses for that type.
